Nestled in the highlands of southern Ethiopia at 1,800–2,200 meters, Yirgacheffe gained worldwide recognition in the 1970s when its distinct flavor profile fruity, intense sweet berries, and floral stood out on the global stage. The traditional natural process, where cherries are sun-dried on raised beds, enhances the region’s reputation for producing complex, aromatic coffees that remain among the most sought-after in specialty coffee today.
