Origin Stories:
Coffee cultivation in Bali dates back to the early 20th century, when Arabica was introduced to the island’s fertile volcanic highlands. Today, most specialty coffee is grown in the Kintamani region at elevations of 1,100–1,400 meters, where cool mountain climates and mineral-rich volcanic soil provide ideal conditions. While Bali is traditionally known for washed coffees, natural processing has gained popularity among local farmers, producing beans with a distinctive tropical character. Bali naturals often showcase notes of ripe grapes, stone fruit, sweet blackcurrant with a syrupy body and lingering sweetness, a reflection of both Bali’s rich environment and its evolving coffee culture.
